The Dora High School Technology Lab consists of one semester classes designed to enhance student’s career pathway choices and knowledge of computer skills. The courses are designed to integrate the basic academic “core skills” of Math, Science, English and Computer Literacy into a meaningful technology learning experience. Students will reinforce core skills to focus on the applications of technology in the work place through problem solving activities in each module. Students will be provided a predefined problem solving and design model, which they can follow. Students will complete a Pre-Test to establish entry knowledge before beginning each module. They will be expected to complete directed activities by: (1) Gathering information from the textbooks and materials provided with each module (2) responding to questions designed to tract their progress through each assignment (3) recording details of research and experimentation in the Student Workbooks (4) using the computer workstation for investigation and computer aided instruction tasks (5) using video materials as a research resource (6) performing practical tasks with the hardware provided. Students will take an individual Post-Test when all the assignments have been completed. The student work will be automatically marked and competence achievement automatically graded.
