ALL ABOUT ME |
|
I am Amanda
Crites Riley. I serve the Dora R-III School District as the guidance
counselor. Here is my story: I was born and raised in Dora and attended all 13 years of my school days here. While a student I was very involved in the athletic programs and dedicated to the academics. My graduating class (Class of 1997) was the last class to walk across the old stage to receive our High School diplomas. The school was destroyed by fire the following January. I have MANY precious memories of the people and events of those "glory" days. After High School graduation, I attended Missouri State University (then, SMSU) - West Plains. I originally had planned on obtaining my Associates from there and then transferring to SMSU Springfield for a degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. However, somewhere along the way, I decided to go into education. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in May 2001. I taught Kindergarten for the Dora School District for six years. During that time I completed my Master of Education in Administration from William Woods University. Then when the counselor position became vacant, I decided to pursue that avenue. I am now in my second year as counselor and am in the middle of obtaining my Master of Counseling from Missouri State University. There were lots of other things going on in my life through those years. In 1999, I married Daniel Riley. We have a four-year old daughter, who attends preschool at Dora and a nine month old son. They are absolutely the joys of our life and we deeply value our family time. Due to Daniel's involvement with the family business (log home construction) we currently reside in Pottersville, Missouri. However, our heart and pride belongs to our hometown. We are well aware and thankful for the fact that we have been blessed ten-fold and give praise to God for the countless blessings in our life.
