    Farm Kids for College Scholarship

    The National Farmers Organization will award three $1,000 scholarships in 2012 to seniors who are interested in pursuing careers in agriculture.  The competition materials are all available to print from pdf forms at http://www.nfo.org/Scholarships/Default.aspx.  All materials need to be completed and returned by March 12, 2012.

     

     

    Physical Therapy Specialists Memorial Scholarship

    Physical Therapy Specialists Clinic awards eight $1,000 memorial scholarships each year to individuals in Douglas, Howell, Wright, Oregon, Shannon, and Texas counties. Applications are available at each clinic location or on Mrs. Amanda's bulletin board.  They are reviewed by a board of local community leaders who rank potential recipients based on criteria that may include personal and leadership qualities, academic accomplishments, grade point average, financial need and community service. Open to ALL fields of study.

    Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship

    Four (4) $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to MO graduating high school seniors who will be full-time students in an accredited MO college or university and with an intent of pursuing an insurance, risk management, actuarial science or related course of study.

    Completed applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2012.  Applications can be found on Mrs. Amanda' scholarship bulletin board. 

     

     
    Best Buy Scholarship Program

    Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply.  Student need solid grades plus community service or work experience.  Apply December 26, 2011 - February 15, 2012 at www.bestbuy-communityrelations.com

     

     
    Robert J. Trulaske, Sr College of Business - University of Missouri

    If you are planning to attend University of Missouri - Columbia in the fall and are pursuing a degree in Business, scholarship applications can be accessed at www.business.missouri.edu/scholarships.  The deadline to apply will be February 1, 2012. 

     

     
     
     

     

     

     

     U.S. Bank Scholarship Program

    • Available to high school seniors and college undergraduates
    • Forty $1,000 scholarships awarded in a random drawing
    • No essays
    • Program runs October - March

    Educational Community Credit Union - CU Succeed 2012 Scholarship

    ECCU will award two (2) $1,000 scholarships!  To qualify, the applicant must be a member of ECCU, a graduating high school senior and plan to participate in post-secondary studies.

    The American Legion 2010-2011 Scholarship Programs:
    • Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship Fund - Two awards of $1000 each year.  One to a boy who has attended a full session of The American Legion Boys State of MO or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.  The second award is given to a girl who has attended a full session of The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

     

    • M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fund - Currently one $750 award is given for two successive semesters, and may, by application, be extended fro two additional successive semesters.  This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college years.  The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class or have a "C" or equivalent standing from their last college or university semester.  Scholarships are awarded for one year, payable $375 per semester.

     

    • Joseph J. Frank Scholarship - Five awards of $500.00 are given annually to individuals who are descendents of a veteran.  Applicant must have attended a full session of The American Legion Boys State or The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program.  Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri and must use the scholarship as a full time student in an accredited college or university.

     

    • Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship - Two awards of $500 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion.  Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant* of a member of any thereof.  Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.

     

    • Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship - Two $500 are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this Past National Executive Committeeman from Missouri.  To be eligible, individuals must:  (1) be a descendent * of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable discharge; (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application is made; and (5) submit an essay of 500 words or less on the subject: In your opinion, what was the most significant world event of 2011/2012?

     

    • Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship - One $500 award will awarded, annually.  (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate ONE student to be considered for the award.  (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic and leadership abilities.  the nominee should be deeply involved at an accredited college or university.  If you are interested in being considered as Dora's nominee, please let Mrs. Amanda know by February 1, 2012.  A committee will then review the applicants and choose one to represent DHS.
