CLASS NEWS

Dear Parents/Guardians,

     Well summer is over and it is time to begin a new school year. This year for Title we will be implementing a new vision program. During the first week of school all students K-3rd will be screened and a note will be sent home to the parents if it is determined that the student would benefit from vision tutoring. Mrs. Jessica Barton will begin the tutoring in early September. We have heard positive things about the program and hope that Dora can see some of the same results as other schools have. The vision tutoring should help students that may be struggling in reading.

     Last year we started receiving free books through the First Book program. We are going to continue the program this year so your child will be bringing home free books from school. We hope to send home books approximately three times per year.

     This year we will also be sending home a handbook for those students that qualify for Title services. We hope that the handbook will be able to answer any questions you may have.
