Monday was our historical Icon’s birthday, Johnny Appleseed. Mrs.Jarvis’s Kindergarten class celebrated with eating caramel apples, reading stories, and making fun hats. The students really enjoyed learning about Johnny Appleseed, and how he started apple orchards all over the U.S.

The 5th grade grew beans with out soil to determine what is needed for plant growth!
We are so proud of JAG student, Natasha. Her essay was selected and will be attending the Governors Reception in November. Natasha’s essay will also be published in a book for the First Lady. Congratulations Natasha!
In art this week, the students learned about George Seurat. Seurat was famous for dot work called "pointillism." Check out the students' fall inspired pointillism art!

In Photography this week, the students learned about the art of flower photography! The students went outside to capture their flower photos, then edited them beautifully! Enjoy!
This team of cross country runners are smashing it! Every one of these runners set new PERSONAL RECORDS! Autumn Nold and Emma Martin both medaled at the Big Spring Van Buren meet.
The softball game at Willow Springs today has been rained out. We do not have a make-up date yet.
This week is Global Student Prayer Week. The Dora FCA will be hosting a "See You At The Pole" prayer time at 7:35 on Wednesday morning, September 22. Everyone is welcome to join us for this special time of prayer, as we join with other schools across America on this day.
This week in art, the students learned all about Piet Mondrian! Piet was a famous Dutch artist who focused on geometric shapes and primary colors. The students created their own Mondrian inspired artwork and did a wonderful job!
Our consumer math students are off to a great start. The class average for the Earning Money Unit exam was 90%. They learned 13 different skills within this unit.
Lady Falcons beat Reed Springs 20-3. Lost to Cassville 1-13.
All of the Dora Cross Country Team kicked off their season with a strong start. We have a good season to look forward too. The Boys Varsity Team took third place, in Division 1. Individually three boys placed in the top 25 runners. Way to go Dora Falcon XC.
